30.08.2019 - Planetary gears: Buy online now – low backlash, compact and highly precise
The new planetary gearbox series from Framo Morat are now available through the online shop - either directly or on request. They include the high-end economy lines GSN und GFE as well as the high-end gearbox lines GSD (flange gear), GSB (inline) and GSBL (angle gear).Particularly suitable applications for the new range are those which place the highest demands on positioning accuracy, operating noises, running smoothness, bending rigidity and transmitted torque. The planetary gears are designed to meet the highest production requirements - all lines are equipped with precision ground helical gearing, single-piece planetary carriers and full needle bearings.
The high-end economy lines GSN & GFE combine high performance with economic efficiency: both lines are also equipped with helical ground gears, ensuring a minimum noise level and smooth running. The full needle bearing has been especially designed to reach high torques that beat the competition for units of the same size. All planetary carriers are manufactured as a cage made from solid material. This increases quiet operating characteristics while at the same time improving positioning accuracy and reducing backlash. An additional shaft sealing ring ensures maximum dust and splash water protection in accordance with protection class IP65 in all lines.
The GSD, GSB & GSBL high-end gearbox lines are constructed in a space-optimized, two-stage design. Due to the lower torque values, the input stage is dimensionally smaller than the output stage. Its short design makes the GSD line the ideal high-end gearbox for space restricted applications. The low standard backlash of the GSD line makes it the perfect fit for highly dynamic applications where highest positioning and speed accuracy is required. The flange output produces highest torsional rigidity. For the accommodation of particularly high axial loads, taper roller bearings are optionally available in sizes with 90 mm diameter or higher. The GSB line stands for high performance in combination with low backlash and high precision. Its robust, one-piece housing allows for a high gearbox rigidity and the absorption of high radial and axial loads. The angular gearboxes of the GSBL line offer the same advantages as the GSB line; the right angle shape makes the GSBL line the perfect match for all dynamic applications where space is limited.
10.05.2019 - New hub gearbox: Compact power unit for a nimble shuttle fleet
Compact, flexible and powerful:
Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) have proven to be extremely economical
and productive. For instance, they distribute picked goods in vast
warehouse and trucking company halls. The drives for the vehicles, which
are often called automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), must be lightweight
and compact, with high power density and energy at the same time. In the
increasingly small shuttle vehicles for distribution systems in
warehouses, there is little installation space for drives.
NG250 and NG500 platform hub gearboxesHub gearboxes from Framo Morat have proven their utility in wheel drives for automated guided vehicles thanks to their compact design, which is achieved by integrating the planetary stage into the impeller. The advantageous arrangement of the bearings and the direct force transmission into the vehicle frame enable high radial loads. The hub gearboxes – of a design not used for AGVs before – offer significant advantages with regard to service life, reliability and noise emission compared to the wheel and toothed belt drives often used so far.
To facilitate short delivery times, the hub gearboxes are available in the NG250 and NG500 variants, each in single- and double-stage versions with Vulkollan® wheels. The low-maintenance design makes it easy to change the wheel.
Customer-specific adaptations, such as a brush seal for outdoor applications or a toothed belt for use in high-bay warehouses, can be made upon request.
Wheel hub drives as a complete system including motor, gearbox, and wheel
In design engineering and development of customer-specific wheel hub drives or customized sizes, Framo Morat is your reliable partner. Our many decades of experience in drive engineering are irreplaceable. We support you in configuring the required gear ratios, wheel loads, materials and toothing types. The modular design of the NG250 and NG500 hub gearboxes offers maximum flexibility in connecting the motor, brake, and control system. When it comes to selecting the impeller, various PU materials and wheel sizes are available for different application areas.
20.12.2018 - Franz Morat Group heading to a 100 Million turnover
With a turnover exceeding 91 million Euros, the Franz Morat Group has beaten once more its record of the previous year. The Group managed to almost double its turnover since 2010. For 2019, Manager Gökhan Balkis forecasts a further turnover increase: already in the coming year, the Group will aim at the next major milestone of its history with a budgeted figure of 100 million Euros.
The main
growth drivers are in particular the electromobility, automotive,
intralogistics and rehabilitation technology markets, where the Franz Morat
Group has continuously strengthened its presence in the last years with
innovative drive solutions and high-volume orders. This led to record incoming
orders (12% above target) and orders on hand.
Also the international production sites strongly contribute to the growth. The
injection moulding facility F. Morat México in the Mexican automotive
belt in Lerma is already writing black figures, after barely a year of
operational activity. The assembly facility Framo Morat Polska in Nowa
Ruda, which started production in 2015, contributes to the lasting productivity
increase and provides important capacities for the whole corporate group.
A further production facility is being built in immediate proximity, for the manufacture of electromobility drive solutions. The joint venture Morat Swoboda Motion founded at the beginning of the year with the renowned automotive supplier Swoboda has, in its first extension stage, a production surface of approximately 4,500 m². The first machines are currently being commissioned in Nowa Ruda, series production will start already in June 2019 with about 40 employees.
The Franz Morat Group is employing today 665 people in total. 82 new employees have been hired in 2018 alone. In order to be prepared for the targets and challenges of the coming years, the personnel will be increased already next year to more than 700 employees.
